XPeng has officially opened presales for the MONA L03, its first SUV in the MONA family, featuring self-developed AI chips and starting at approximately 720,000 baht in China.
XPeng continues its aggressive push into the accessible electric vehicle market with the official launch of presales for the MONA L03 in China. This marks the debut of the first SUV in the MONA family, combining striking design elements, proprietary chip technology, and versatile powertrain options. With a starting price of just 143,800 yuan (approximately 720,000 baht) for the base model, XPeng is positioning the MONA L03 as a formidable competitor in the highly competitive C-SUV segment. The vehicle represents a significant step forward in bringing advanced electric mobility to a broader audience while maintaining premium features and performance capabilities.
One of the standout features of the MONA L03 is its proprietary Turing chip, developed entirely in-house by XPeng. The Max variant utilizes a single chip configuration delivering 750 TOPS of computing power, while the Ultra SE variant steps up with dual chips providing an impressive 1,500 TOPS. This substantial processing capability enables advanced driver assistance systems to function seamlessly across all road conditions. The self-developed chip technology demonstrates XPeng's commitment to vertical integration and technological independence, allowing the company to optimize both hardware and software for superior performance and future upgradability.
XPeng offers the MONA L03 in two distinct powertrain configurations to suit different driving requirements. The pure EV version delivers an impressive range of 525 to 625 kilometers on a single charge according to CLTC standards, with acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.6 seconds. For those requiring extended range capabilities, the EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) variant provides 315 kilometers of pure electric driving, and when combined with its range extender engine, can achieve a total range exceeding 1,330 kilometers on a full charge and tank. This flexibility ensures drivers can choose the configuration that best matches their lifestyle and travel patterns.
The exterior design of the MONA L03 was led by JuanMa López, a former Ferrari designer, resulting in a stunning Coupe-SUV silhouette that balances sportiness with practicality. The vehicle achieves an exceptionally low drag coefficient of just 0.228, contributing to improved efficiency and range. Inside, the cabin emphasizes minimalist luxury by eliminating the traditional instrument cluster in favor of a massive 26.8-inch W-HUD windscreen display. This is complemented by a 15.6-inch central touchscreen with 2.5K resolution and an immersive 20-speaker surround sound system, creating a premium driving environment that rivals vehicles in much higher price brackets.
XPeng has confirmed that the MONA family will be developed as a global model lineup, with right-hand drive configurations planned for export markets.
